Journal Entry: Fri Jan 22, 2016, 9:49 AM

Hey, so I don’t know if anyone noticed but I haven’t posted a journal since 2014. So here's a quick update (not including the latter half of 2014 because I don’t really remember it well).

For the majority of 2015 I worked as a colourist. I coloured 4 issues of Captain Canuck for Chapterhouse Comics. I got to colour David Finch, Marcus To, Scott Hepburn, Leonard Kirk and Kalman Andrasofszky. I also coloured an issue of the indie comics A Fractured Mind and Glacier Thorne.
*EDIT* I forgot to mention but I also coloured 5 covers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles drawn by Adam Gorham

I stopped colouring full time after all these ended (I actually just outright quit Canuck) because it got in the way of all my illustration (also in general they were usually kinda late).

I also decided to work on my own comic (then called Blackout, now called Haven) but after a couple months of struggling with writing I turned it over to a writer I know, Kevin Parnell and he’s now writing it.
Here’s some art that I’ve posted for it a while ago. Sketchbook Rei by ParisAlleyneBlackout page sample (tentative title) by ParisAlleyne

While he’s working on that I in general work on my second story but I won’t say anything about that for a while.

I had 3 interviews with Marvel and made a bunch of contacts. I did a Nova sample script and I’m currently working on an X-men sample now.

I think that’s it. I’ll try to post more and I may actually post some of my comic pages at some point. I’ll post more of my Haven story art as I draw it and I’ll just try to be more active overall.

Also if you’re interested in seeing me colour that same comic page (the middle panel) watch the video here,

Hello Mr. Alleyne
I really like your art and wanted to ask you a question. Is it worth going to Max The Mutt and why? Thank you in advance :)

Hello, thank you. MTM is a really interesting school.
The faculty really ranges from great teachers to less than stellar ones. There are times where you really question why you’re learning something but in the end you really come out knowing your stuff.
The school is definitely worth it. Since I graduated I’ve had steady work in comics.
